[5]art Opening - Instant Gratification
[5]art announces the opening of Instant Gratification, a polaroid installation. This exhibition will feature Polaroid photographs by national and international visual artists.  [5]art will host this exhibition in their primary location in West Tampa at the West Tampa Center for the Arts, located 1906 Armenia Ave, #211. The works included in this exhibition offer a focus on experimental documentation, considering how the desire to capture an image is intensified through the immediacy of the instantaneous Polaroid process. The exhibition explores the implications and applications of "instant imaging" and celebrates the format of this cultural iconic medium through repetition in installation. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments, donation bar and Polaroid souvenir snapshots will be available. All art sales for this exhibition will be 'cash and carry'.   Gallery hours by appointment. Class and group visits are welcomed. [5]art artist collective 1906 N. [5]art :: 2nd Annual Fundraiser for Silver Meteor Gallery

[5]art presents their second annual fundraiser for Silver Meteor Gallery, one of Tampa's most celebrated alternative venues for the visual and performing arts. This exciting fundraising exhibition serves to raise funds for improvements to this landmark Ybor City building and is organized by Tampa's [5]art artist collective, dedicated to exhibiting both established and emerging local, national and international artists working in a variety of media.

The 2nd Annual Fundraiser will be held for one night only on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 7 until 11 p.m. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door. All proceeds will go directly towards future improvements of the Silver Meteor Theater and Gallery. The first annual [5]art fundraiser raised enough money to repair the building's roof. So please join us for a night of art, music, and camaraderie in support of both this great local venue and [5]art's commitment to engaging the local community through the visual arts.
All accepted works will also be featured on the [5]art website. www.five-art.com
