Bio: Virginia Spalter moved from Michigan to Valrico, Fl with her family in the early nineties. With a strong desire to create, she worked with such mediums as photography, charcoal drawing, painting and pottery before coming face to face with the glass world. Virginia blends her love of color and style in to each piece to create unique works of glass art. Her ever evolving designs of contemporary bowls, sushi sets, platters and wonderful funky wearable art keep her work fresh and inspiring setting her apart in the glass industry. Pieces large or small can be commissioned upon request. She is a member of the Brandon Arts Council, Florida Craftsman and the American Craft Council. Her work can be found around the Brandon & Tampa area in local boutiques and galleries.
Artist Statement: As I immersed myself in the exploration of warm glass, my appreciation for color, light and the fluidity of glass has inspired me to create glass art for every day life. I hope to bring the passion and appreciation for hand made glass that I have acquired to all willing to bring art glass in to their lives. Accentuating graphic design and color, my goal is to make each piece as unique as the person experiencing it.
