My paintings are an exploration of my life and the changes that I have experienced. This journey started in Atlanta and has come to fruition in St. Petersburg, as I have taught myself this medium. Being a self-taught artist I have been able to experiment with many ideas and have found certain styles that fulfill my passions and out look on life. I want to see people smile when they view my artwork, and that is the main reason that I paint playful and whimsical impressions of nature and children. When I paint wildlife I am trying to capture the essence and not necessarily the actual animal. The children that I paint in a playful and energetic manner express the joy I see in my own girls, yet I paint them in an abstract and primitive style. In many of my paintings I am projecting a story within my art work.
