Magnificent saturated translucent colors, captivating formal abstractions, metal collages of whimsical shape and form, can only begin to describe my body of sculpture. My works are created from raw metal cut, welded, molded, heated, bent, and coaxed into abstracted forms ranging from the sea and its creatures, to urban cityscapes. The work comes to life with vibrant color, slick flowing lines, textures, biomorphic shapes, rhythms, and patterns in combination with abstracted subject matter to bring you forms that erupt with vitality and excitement. Whether hanging from a gallery wall or growing from a floor space the dimensional work has a naturalistic quality that comes from the fabrication and painting techniques as well as the use of its own caste shadows. My subjects are born from a love of the ocean and a hustling contemporary city life. Inspiration comes to me while scuba diving in exotic locations and experiencing the wondrous beauties that are offered on earth and below the water. A diving factor in my work is the physical dance with the material; it is a release for me as the expressive quality of the worked metal comes to life. Creating is a way of life and sharing it with the world is something very special to me. As an art teacher and a professional artist I love to share my work, ideas, and information to influence a culture of art lovers.
